Eurovision
The Eurovision Song Contest is on once again! This year they’re doing it a little differently with two rounds of singing instead of just one.
This year it’s being held in Istanbul, Turkey.
I’ve been watching the ‘countdown to eurovision’ these past few days on SBS. It’s funny what each of the australian commentators thought about each country’s song. The host of the show, the always witty Des Mangan, has released a book ‘This is Sweden Calling’. It details the Contests history and past participants and winners.
I’ve posted some pics which I unashamedly stole from the official eurovision site. The first two below are of the Romanian entry (*cheer*!!) with Sanda singing ‘I admit’. But unfortunately I wasn’t that impressed, though they are getting better.

I haven’t seen all the songs so I can’t really say which one(s) I like the best, but one did get my attention. Frances entry, ‘A Chaque pas’ was a soft, sweet ballad. Well I’m not sure how it will turn out looking and sounding on the night, but the video clip and song were nice.

Cyprus’ entry was different, and the singer Lisa Andreas has an interesting voice, though I don’t think it will be enough to win, hmm a bit too moody for eurovision. One of the unique, different acts is Deen of Bosnia & Herzegovina performing ‘In the Disco’. Whoa it’s the late 70’s, early 80’s all over again!

um… hoorah for eurovision? Guess I should start watching it, since you are making me. Damn peer pressure.
I hope the angry looking romanian girl doesn’t win. She scares me!
