So instead of using Internet Explorer try Mozilla, Opera, Firefox or any of the other numerous browsers out there. I personally like Firefox and Opera, though while Firefox is free Opera is not. Opera’s trial/free version is add supported.

Firefox is basically the mozilla browser with none of the added extra’s (but you can still add useful ‘extensions’ to it).
While Mozilla offers a browser, e-mail, addressbook, and an HTML editor. This is an all in one software suite. Again as with any product from mozilla it’s free.

Apart from the security issues of IE it also isn’t web standard compliant. So some sites will not display properly. Now you might think that your pretty little fan site with iframe, javascript and fancy CSS displays great in IE but in none of the other browsers. Well unfortunately IE allows poorly designed sites to load and still be readable.
Personally I think it’s lazy if you don’t code html properly in the fist place and expect IE to get it right for you. (I’m guilty of it too ^_^)
IE also has it’s own set of special CSS formatting which may not show up in other browsers.
Visit W3C for guidlines on HTML, XHTML, CSS and more. You can also validate your website to make sure it will display properly in other browsers and that it contains no errors.
Try W3Schools for extensive tutorials “from basic HTML and XHTML to advanced XML, XSL, Multimedia and WAP”, so if your serious about making websites don’t just stop at those simple jazzed up, effects type tutorials but learn to code a site properly. (I have nothing against those tutorial sites with free javascript, css, scrolling banners etc they can be *useful* at times but in general don’t give you much scope to work with)
